Most assignments will be made approximately 3 weeks prior to the event. However those assigned for a full day/weekend will be notified as soon as possible.

If you volunteer (and are assigned) for an assistant, line ambassador (first or second shift) you will receive Early Entry for that day.

If you volunteer for and are assigned to a full day role you’ll receive lunch for that day.

Volunteer Roles:

• Author Assistant – All Day role
• 1st Shift Line Ambassador 2 – 3 hours
• 2nd Shift Line Ambassador 2 – 3 hours
• Ticket Scanning/Registration M&G 2 hours
• Ticket Scanning/Registration Friday or Saturday 1 – 2.5 hours
• Room Set Up – Friday morning, Friday night (late), Saturday morning
• Friday Morning set up 7am/7:30am – 11:30am
• Friday Night set up 9:30pm – 11:30pm
• Saturday Morning set up 7:30am/8am – 9:00am/9:30am

Preferably – it would be great to have the same team for all scanning, same team for first shift Line Ambassador, same team for second shift Line Ambassador. Preferred but not required.

• Those volunteering for all day/all weekend will be assigned first

• Those volunteering for assistant or any line ambassadors role will be assigned second

• Those volunteering for only a specific role will be assigned third

Please note: if volunteering for an assistant or line ambassador role we will try to assign you to your favorite authors/genres but those authors may not need assistance.

If you volunteer for a full day/weekend and are assigned for a full day/weekend – NO TICKET IS REQUIRED and you will participate during Early Entry both days and receive lunch for the day you work.

Depending on the number of volunteers that sign up – those who have successfully worked with Team RARE in the past will be given first consideration.
